House of Mystery
Friends since childhood, Hjalmar Myksvoll-Singh and Øystein Redalen together go by the moniker of House Of Mystery. Born and raised in Ås, later moving to Oslo then on to the provinces, just outside Skien in the Telemark mountains to totally immerse themselves in their own House Of Mystery studio. They play a kind of alternative rock hybrid of psych, surf sugary electronica, new wave and agit-pop which all weaves together to create their own idiosyncratic voice.
The band describe themselves as dancey tropical psychedelia mixed with Dehli-surf and circus pop, delivered with punk energy and eviscerating rhythms. On stage they are joined by brothers in arms Lasse Saurbrey Kittelsen and Svein Arne Egenæs.
The band’s most recent song “Airwolf Gandhi” was at the top of the NRK Urørt chart for ages last Summer and they will soon re-release physically as a seven inch backed with the track “Bamboo Town” together with a video in 2013.
The material for a debut album is currently being assembled in their ramshackle studio, which features valve compressors, rusty harps and restored reverb chambers. House Of Mystery are a band with big ideas and 2013 is going to be a big year.

The Switch
The Switch are a pop band from Oslo comprised of a singer songwriter, a hard rock bassist, a klezmer clarinet player, the drummer from Norma Sass, a piano teacher, a journalist and a writer-cum-bartender with a shady background. They make classic POP (yes in capitals) awash with layers of backing vox, old school keyboards and massive guitar solos.
The band are in the process of putting the final touches to their debut long player “Big If” which has been produced by Ole Øvstedal (Dharma, Euroboys, Spirits of The Dead), recorded by Morten Øby (Pirate Love, Lionheart Brothers), mixed by Christian Engfeldt (Cato Salsa Experience, The Turns) and last but not least mastered by Björn Engelmann at Cutting Room. The first single “Finally overrated” picked up plays from P3 in particular the influential Lydverket show as well as being A-listed on Radio Nova. The band played Øya’s club program appearing at both Revolver and Sukkerbiten setting things up nicely for an Autumn seven inch release and subsequent release party at Internasjonalen.

Bombus (SE)
Swedish rockers Bombus describe themselves as Conan The Barbarian with glasses. In other words, they blessed with both brains and brawn. Their self-titled debut was released in 2010 and was universally well received and has earned them fans in high places, not least Darkthrone kingpin Fenriz. The band has toured heavily since then, appearing in many and varied environs, from the North Pole to glitzy Euro clubs to half empty German biker gang club houses. The band are now on the cusp of releasing the follow-up, which will be softer and harder and faster and more devastating allatthesametime. And way way better than the first record.

Okkultokrati
Okkultokrati are an anti-social punk band who came from the same tape label Ormeyngel and gang Black Hole Crew who’ve produced bands such as Haust, Dark Times and several other now defunct bands. Okkultokrati released their debut album “No Light For Mass” on the Fysisk Format label to great acclaim in 2010 but that’s nothing compared to what will happen when people hear the follow-up “Snakereigns”.
Produced by the band and Emil Nikolaisen the record was released by Fysisk Format in October.

sweden
sweden look back longingly to the nineties, to when they borrowed their dad’s car and drove to the shopping centre across the boarder to buy pick & mix and to the days when they listened to Popsicle and dreamed of getting into SoWhat! They’ve now packed up all this wonderful nineties nostalgia into a neat little box of catchy, immediate pop melodies but not without a healthy dose of melancholia thrown in for good measure. Though sickly sweet they are not, sweden do inspire uncontrollable attempts at choruses you can’t actually sing, man hugs with the guy next to you at the bar and the irrepressible urge to pick up your old skateboard again.
The two dudes in sweden are Christian Spro (Doopy, Beezewax, Palermo) and Fredrik Gretland (The Cumshots, Tennessee Beats, Datsun). With the help of a couple of their mates they’ve put to together a record jam packed with catchy as fuck hits, massive choruses and the feeling of hanging out with your buddies on the other side of the border. Like if Andreas Mattson rang you and asked if you wanted to go to the pub, like if Brainpool were going to play your local venue and like Starmarket had just released an album.

Johnossi (SE)
Johnossi release their new album in 2013 and will tour including a visit to by:Larm. The first single from the record will premiere on P3’s Gulda Gala show.
Since their 2005 debut, John Engelbert (guitar / vox) an Ossi Bonde (drums) have hammered, shredded and sweated their way to the top of the Scadinavian rock pile. Their most recent opus “Mavericks” (2010) took the band to a new level. The record won a Swedish Grammy, a P3 Gold prize and the single “What’s The Point” went platinum; a track which in fact ended up being one of the most played tracks on Norwegian radio having been playlisted for the better part of the second half of the year. Now three years down the track, they’re ready to do it all again.
Their as yet untitled fourth LP will be released on March 20 2013. The record was recorded in Stockholm this past Autumn and was produced and mixed by the band’s secret weapon Lasse Mårten, who also produced “Mavericks”. Also on board this time around were Bjørn Yttling (Lykke Li, Shout Out Louds, Peter Bjorn & John) and Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow) who were executive producers of sorts.
Johnossi have always been an acclaimed live proposition and are often admired for their on stage power and dynamism.
