Speaker: Moderator: Wyndham Wallace
More and more of us consume and access music, books and games digitally, via downloads or streams. But what are consumers actually buying, when the “product” has no physical form? How do you “steal” something with no intrinsic value?
Is it really a better climate for musicians when thousands of downloads barely generate the same revenue as a single album sale? Are we forbidden to lend our collections, or leave them to loved ones when we die? Representatives from all sides of the debate – digital content providers, musicians, lawyers – discuss the changing paradigms of supply, ownership and economics in the digital domain, and try to find out where does the balance lie, and who holds the power.
