This is the story how we’re building a world of loops and lol.
The GIF emerged way back in 1987 and is still a powerhouse of a format as it’s fueling the web with short / fun and or embarrassing small animations. Loopcam aims to be the Instagram of animted GIFs so everyone can make small animations to share with the world on Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr in addition to Loopcams own platform. Users can also simply send GIFs from their phone as an email or MMS. According to Loopcam people stick to this kind of format because we’re living in a world where snack sized entertainment is king.
Tor Rauden Källstigen was born in Stockholm, he went to Shanghai when he was 20 and got this shock of how a big Asian metropolitan city can be. His former project was about making jeans in North Korea, like a sort of experimental art/politics/business project. He lived in Seoul last summer, just to investigate what it is like to live in the future for a while. Now Loopcam.
