The name Morten Myklebust has been an ever present name in the Norwegian scene in the last couple of years, but he’s still a relatively unknown proposition to Joe Public. The main reason for this is that he’s spent most of this time working as a songwriter for several other Norwegian artists, all the while working on his debut album for the past five years. It finally saw the light of day in 2012, and was received warmly by the press. The single “Away” was A-listed on P1 (Norwegian equivalent of BBC Radio 2). Live he’s charming and funny, which is a welcome contrast to his melancholy tunes. In the past he’s collaborated with amongst others Susanne Sundfør and Christel Alsos, and he will release his second album later in 2013.
