Cæcilie Trier has with her new main project, CTM, once again proven herself to be one of the most interesting voices and musicians from Denmark. Her musical CV is amazing: Playing cello in the critically acclaimed Choir of Young Believers, being the créateur of Chimes & Bells and playing in Le Fiasko and the experimental group, Valby Vokalgruppe.
CTM is Cæcilie Trier’s new solo project and with CTM another path in her creative mind is revealed. The tunes of CTM are danceable with distinct vocals and likeable beats wrapped in an adventurous production. The percussive elements and the synth arrangements are at once a homage to the musical stars of the early eighties: Avantgarde artists like Laurie Anderson one side and on the other side icons like Leonard Cohen and Michael Jackson.
CTM has already gained international attention with the track “Jewel”. The music blog No Fear of Pop – part of the world wide ADHoc network wrote the following words of praise: “CTM has all the attributes to become just another globally cherished Scandinavian pop darling”.
The debut of CTM, the EP “Variations”, was released in Scandinavia in end November 2012 and received a lot of praise. Large Danish Daily, Politiken, gave CTM 5 stars and wrote: “It broadens the scope of Danish pop… It is seldom that you are pleased so much by an EP”
“Variations” consists of 5 upbeat songs recorded during the summer of 2012 together with Tambourhinoceros co-founder, Oh No Ono member and mixer, Aske Zidore. The result is marvelous and has a compelling vibe to it.
