The stats speak for themselves. In ten years Mando Diao have made five studio albums which have sold more than one and a half million albums the world over. They’ve played more than a thousand shows in more than thirty countries and they’ve picked up more than fifteen million views on Youtube. They’ve released a compilation of B-sides, a best of, an MTV Unplugged album and a DVD. Many of their contemporaries have come and gone but Mando Diao are still here at the vanguard of popular music.

But what better way to follow up a disco hit than with a slow ballad from Sweden.” – Gustaf, Frankfurt Jajrhunderhalle In 2011 Gustaf Norén was invited to write music to accompany one of Gustaf Fröding’s poems for the centenary of the poet’s death. Gustaf hit on a rich vein of inspiration in his texts and together with Björn put together a bunch of songs set to Fröding’s texts. “He does not hold back in any way, he is quite rough in what he says, it’s very liberating,” says Björn.
In an explosion of creativity after that Summer’s Peace & Love festival saw the band recording in a renovated barn in Dala-Floda. Over five intensive days the band co-produced the record with Björn Olsson and Thorsten Flinck joined as a guest on one of the tracks.
