Ich Bin N!ntendo are a fresh young in-your-face-improv-noise-punk-trio. The hard working Oslo based band released their debut LP in October 2012 via the Va Fongool label. In the Spring of 2012 the band got sometime Sonic Youth collaborator Mats Gustafsson (winner of the Nordisk Råd music prize in 2011) along to a show at Chateau Neuf. The meeting was to prove a fruitful one and has resulted in a record which musically can be described as the meeting point between free jazz and grindcore, a ground breaking record that truly pushes the boundaries of what music can be.
Norwegian noise luminary Lasse Marhaug was brought in on mixing and mastering duties. He was given carte blanche to do as he pleased with the raw material he was presented with and the result is a record which already powerful enough in raw form has been honed and perfected to be as immense and as “in your face” as it could absolutely possibly be.
