Highasakite are maybe the most exciting new band from Norway of the last year. From a universally lauded debut album, via a really very solid by:Larm showing to one of the most requested acts at the Summer festivals…. And this is just the beginning.
Friday February 3 2012 saw the release of ”All That Floats Will Rain” which was awarded two 6/6 and fourteen 5/6 scores from Norwegian press. That they were the Spring’s breakout artist is a fact.

With a reception like this it was pretty tough not to pick up on Highasakite being the the buzz band of by:Larm 2012. And even given that their shows were hideously oversubscribed, it didn’t stop people describing the gigs as nothing short of phenomenal.
The Summer saw the band play all the major festivals, Slottsfjell, Øya, Hove, Pstereo as well as Giske and a bunch of others. They subsequently released a self-titled EP worldwide, undertaking visits to Berlin Music Week / Berlin Festival and Airwaves in the Autumn. They already have a number of international events in the diary for 2013, and early in the year the release of “All that floats will rain” is planned worldwide.
